interesting post. As Pat mentioned the current practice of sellers not being required to sell at their desired price is very misleading. I have made several "full expected price offers" at full price and sellers counter with " I want more" sometimes 20x more than the expected price. This is very misleading and wastes the buyers time looking through all of the lists only to have "an expected price" turn into the "bait and switch" clean it up sedo.
Cheers.

Very informative post.

However, I think the problem with the current set-up is that you can put a price on the name that you won't accept. I know I have put a bid on names that showed with a $60 price tag and received no response.

In my opinion, it's people gaming the system. They put up a name that has some value, and falsely increase it's value by putting a low price tag on it to attract bids. I believe (pretty sure about it) that the number of bids plays into Sedo's ranking system. I know that the number of previous bids a name has shows up in the stats for the name.

I think a much better option would be to create a "Send to Auction" item along with "Make Offer" and "Fixed Price" - If the seller chose this option, and received a bid on the name it would automatically go to auction.

Just my 2 cents.
