The Apple iPhone® "4" was just announced by Steve Jobs of Apple Inc. but as with many people… they are always thinking ahead. iPhone5.com was registered on Valentine’s Day in 2008 and with the recent announcement of the iPhone 4, clearly has sparked some interest in the assumed next model, the iPhone 5.
An offer was placed for $3,500 USD for the iPhone5.com domain name via Sedo.com domain name brokerage service and the current owner has sent the domain name to auction. View iPhone5.com auction here. According to whois records, a Li Hui of China is the owner of the domain name.
The auction will end on June 16th at about 11:37 PM EST.
Currently, the iPhone5.com domain name resolves to a Sedo parking page displaying mainly iPhone related ads.
Another interesting note, iPhone4.com was registered in Aug 2006, iPhone3.com at the same time, iPhone2.com in Aug 2004, iPhone1.com in Dec 2005 and the domain Apple Inc. uses, iPhone.com was first registered in 1995.
