Since domain name offers have been few and fair between in 2008, I didn’t expect to even work today (Friday) with the ending of the Holiday season and the weekend around the corner. I did work, because I felt that it was the right thing to do. Keep pushing forward, getting the word out etc.
Now I stated about the $1K offer I got on BailoutBill(.)com eairler. About 1 hour after that offer another offer came in on RecycleBox(.)com . $xxx offer on that. Both offers from my Fabulous.com parking pages.
In both replies, I sent nearly a Full Page reply (full page printed). I didn’t want to swamp my interested parties, I wanted to really get my point across. Make them think, just like I did back when I started buying domain names. My goal is to really educate with Facts and put my stories into Real Life for them. It’s Not just about buying "a domain".
Buying a domain name is NOT just buying a domain name. Buying the Right Domain is the start of launching your online enterprise! This domain name will be seen on Business Cards, Letter Head, Tshirts, Jackets, Newsletters and many times on cars, billboards, coffee cups and any place your creative mind can think of! Let’s not forget about Radio!
I have said it and use it as my tag line. There is no substitute for the Perfect Domain!
It’s just so true!
Here is a little bit of what I sent the interested part in RecycleBox(.)com
I noticed David Carter has been having the same contact I have today. Well, we have been hearing it leading up to 2009. Change Is Coming! Is 2009 when the mass public are going to Take Action and finally figure out that Domain Names are KEY to being successfull online?

Nice read. Fully agree that many people companies don’t give the proper importance to domain name when starting business. I had the exact same experience many times, most recently when someone contacted us for the launch of theor new clothing line for parties, and events. They wanted to do us a favor by helping us unload PartyClothing.com for $500
My response was: thanks but no thanks!

With brick and mortar crumbling around us, 2009 is ripe with opportunity. “Retail” noticed Amazon’s online sales, and they see the future. Keyword domains are one of the keys to bringing traffic to your brand…

Interesting read. I would love to hear how the interested party replied.
Good luck!

Most EXCELLENT blog and my feeling exactly
I recently picked up five drops (two were probably from the same registrar) that blew my socks off when I saw them (especially with niche martketing taking off like a book of matches in dry tinder
I held my breath while registering them … and tada!
(-: 2009 is meant to be fine

Good to see you getting some offers on your domains – I think we need educate the buyer unless its a domainer which we rarely would know.
Endusers still dont get the full value!
Lets hope that you have just educate two people who shall tell two friends and they shall tell two friends etc etc.
Best Of Luck, let us know your reply from the interested parties.

Robbie

It is obvious that the end users are not aware of the real value of domain names. So as domainers we have to act as educators not only to the buyers but also to general public. We have to explain in detail why a domain name worth the price we are asking for. The internet is still so immature. In 10 years time the domains end users acquiring will worth a lot times more.
Best wishes to everyone in 2009,
Ataol
