This article is currently speculation / rumor for now but the following was stated from a Parked.com account rep:

"make sure you sign up for an account at DomainApps.com as you will soon be able to access Parked.com account via DomainApps."

Now the above statement by itself wouldn’t flag a purchase / sale to me as that would be more like a partnership in some way, but Parked.com is also not accepting "new accounts" any more either. I thinking adding those two things together, plus the launch of Voodoo leads into the potential result of DomainApps.com purchasing Parked.com in some way (clients, full business, domain and clients etc) .

The owners of Parked.com had recently launched Voodoo.com in October 2011, which is another domain parking service, but using a Google feed.

Again, this is simply speculation right now but I wouldn’t be surprised to hear some official news coming out from DomainApps.com that they have purchased Parked.com in some way. DomainApps.com was WhyPark.com until a recent rebranding.

    Were they not the same to begin with? I thought parked and whypark was operated and owned by the same people.

    Hey Jamie,

    Happy New Year.

    In regards to DomainApps.com, the team over at Parked.com had bought whypark.com maybe less then 2 years ago and whypark re-branded as domainapps. My only take on parked.com not accepting new applications perhaps they are trying to push VooDoo.com being a google feed and parked.com a yahoo feed and as you know yahoo isn’t being friendly with parking companies as of late.

    Come out to Domainfest Jamie, its an experience.

    Steve

    @Steve and Lennard,
    If they are owned by the same company/people… then is Parked.com being phased out is the next question.

    Jamie,

    Good question. Maybe. I do know many colleagues who still park thousands of domains with parked.com, perhaps Donny is trying to steer new business to voodoo.com.

    I was told that Donny moved out on his own and has nothing to do with those guys from Parked anymore.

    @Jim,
    As in, maybe DomainApps.com purchased Parked.com from Donny?

    Hi,

    The last days i got a call from parked.com that my whole Domainportfolio gets imigrated to Domainapps.com.

    So from now on all of my parked Domains are at Domainapps.com, with the same yahoo feed and the same parking options as at former parked.com.
    At Domainapps you can choose between parking and content Sites. So i think whypark and parked are from now on together at Domainapps.com :-)

    @Contrero,
    Thanks for the update! I still haven’t heard any official news from Parkeddd/WhyPark/DomainApps, but I would expect something sooner than later.

    Donny was/is a part owner of parked. Looks like voodoo is part of the little empire http://www.wannadevelop.com/blog/parked-voodoo-com-domain-parking/
