In about an hour I will be hacked open with a knife… Fun, fun.. The biggest problem it’s my finger which I use daily to type to all of you and do all the rest of my work.
I will play it by ear and see how I feel and how my finger functions after the proceedure is done.
I am having a pretty good sized Ganglion Cyst removed near the inside joint on my index finger where your finger meets up with your hand, on my left hand. It hurts like a bitch when I pick up anything with that hand, so that’s why it’s coming out. A plastic surgeon is doing the work, so I feel pretty good about that.
I found a neat little video of the proceedure if you wish to watch. This guy had it removed what looks like the center of his palm, but it will be the same thing, just up on my hand a little higher. He said he was back blogging the same day, but that was his palm. Fingers are all about typing, so we will see. Enjoy the video if you wish to watch and I will report back later. Maybe with a couple pictures as well

Good luck – they just took out two cysts from my scalp a couple of weeks ago, which is a little different – it’s healing fine though.
All the best.

Ouch!
Good luck with the surgery. I enjoy reading your blog, so heal up quickly!

Good luck. I hope you have a great surgery and everything fixed. You deserve a good life…
Chef Patrick
I should not have watched that, I’m about to eat.
Hope everything goes smoothly, looks like a simple procedure. I don’t see why you don’t do it yourself

Good luck to you. And thanks for the very graphical video, lol. You can always type with your pinky.
Or feet. And Also try your head. Chef swears by plastic spoons.

Thank you everybody! Change in plans now. I went to the Dr and he didn’t have enough time to do the surgery! Grrrr So now they are doing the surgery on May 7, 2009. Darn Doctors. At least he got a good look at it and set up a plan of action. Soooo you still have me blogging away until them
Esa
Ganglion cyst, huh…
I know that these surgeries often result in complications that require finger amputation, but hey, you can blog with 9 fingers at 90% of your usual efficiency so no worries!

@ Esa,

LOL! Well, at least I have a couple more weeks with this finger then

Saved for now.
