At exactly 12 noon CT today, if our house didn’t get struck by lightning I would hate to hear/see it if it ever does. It was the most violent and horrible sound I have ever heard in my life. The bolt of lightning was so bright (even in the middle of the day) and came down so fast and nearly instantly after the bolt came down, was the horrible crackling boom noise of the thunder. I even plugged my ears when it started crackling it was SO loud!
The lights flashed for a quick second and that was it. I didn’t even want to go and check the roof of the house and I haven’t either. I happened to be in my garage at the time and was probally the reason I was able to see the bolt so well.
That was some crazy stuff!
The reason I picked this picture was because the quick look that I got at the bolt, looked exactly like this. Just one single jagged line coming right down. (picture is from Noaa.gov) I had only seen about from the last major bend of the bolt and up. Where the end part hit, I do not know… In this amazing picture, clearly the end of that bolt hit that tree, but I’m sure the people in the house heard the same noise I did.
Being a domainer, I checked out Lightning.com and go figure.. it’s a parking page! I always tell people that I talk to.. when you want to see info or buy something, take the term you are interested in and add .com to it. In this case, I would of looked like an ass.
LightningStrike.com is also a parking page. I agree both would be hard to make money with, but a company could call a product Lightning or Lightning Strike and could use the domains.
BTW, I did just go outside and all looks good on the roof!

Hell of an experience man, glad nothing caught on fire. My grandmother actually got struck by lightning when she was a kid playing on her front porch in Austin,TX. (she’s alive)
BTW, LIGHTNINGSTRIKE.MOBI is available
