With the new and easy form of listing domain names on SnapNames.com as pointed out in a couple of post that I have done recently Listing Domains on SnapNames is a Snap and Listing domain names on snapnames is getting easier .
One thing I didn’t expect but I wanted to make you aware of it. Pending Review!
Since the domain names you wish to list on SnapNames.com need to be registered with Moniker.com and you choose the domains from your account at Moniker, I didn’t expect this "Pending Review" period. I figured it may take a couple hours for the domains I listed for sale to appear on the site Live, but didn’t think it would take DAYS…
I do not know if the domain names need Manual approval from the backend on SnapNames or what. Maybe the people that approve the domains are at DomainFest. Again, not 100% sure.
The fact, I picked the Start Date for my auctions to start and picked an End Date for a reason. I picked my start date to be the day I submitted the domains for auction which was 1-29-2009. I picked the end date of 2-5-2009, which allowed for a 7 day auction. I figure 7 days is plenty enough time for me to promote the auctions and for users of SnapNames to see the domains listed.
Fact #2. Today is 2-1-2009 and in my account at SnapNames still shows Pending Review for the domains that I submitted for auction on 1-29-2009.
This Pending Review makes setting up your Start Date and End Date very hard. It makes you "guess" when the domain will be approved. If anything, it appears my 7 day auction that I planned on, could turn into a 1, 2, 3 or 4 day auction now. Not good.
Knowing now that their is this Review Period that could end up taking several days to happen, I do not think picking a 7 day time frame for your auction is very safe. It may be best to pick an end date that is about 2 weeks out, so your domain is listed on the site for at least a week.
This may be just a small bug in SnapNames system but I wanted to make you aware of the Pending Review period so you can plan accordingly when picking your Start Date and End Date for the domain names you list for sale on SnapNames.

They might choose to reject the price you have chosen, and they might also be filtering for trademarks and ultra naughty language.
