"Take a trip down memory lane" is a pretty famous and well known term, so MemoryLane.com is a fitting domain name when you present old movies, old pictures and more from the 1940′s all the way up to the 1990′s.
Well, MemoryLane.com is the "new" Classmates.com, which is one of the odd things for me because I never really could figure out what Classmates.com was all about in the first place.
MemoryLane.com is running a pretty catchy TV ad campaign but doesn’t mention "classmates.com" in it that I saw, but they are forwarding MemoryLane.com to Classmates.com, at least for now. Classmates.com uses the phrase "Previously Classmates.com" in the title of its site and in Google.
I’m pretty sure they offer the site as a pay service, and I’m still a bit confused as to what the site offers or why somebody would pay to use it. Well, anyway, pretty cool domain name!
Interesting fact: 7 of the 10 natural rankings on Google.com for the search term memory lane (in my region) have the term MemoryLane in the domain name of the site and all are .com domains. Classmates.com holds the #1 spot, OldAutoParts.com is #2 and #10 is PeepAndTheBigWideWorld.com. The remaining contain memorylane in the domains. #3 MemoryLaneInc.com, #4 MemoryLane-Classics.com #5 MemoryLaneClassicCars.com #6 MemoryLaneMusicHall.com #7 YourMemoryLane.com #8 MemoryLaneRecords.com #9 MemoryLaneWeddings.com
Interestingly enough, they (Classmates Online, Inc) owns a bunch of typo’s of MemoryLane.com and the term with add on words as well like:

Obviously, you’ve been living in a closet or just recently coming out of diapers. For the last 10 to 15 years Classmates has been the best place to find friends from a school you may have attended or a workplace. It had been the first place to go to find long lost friends prior to the inception of Facebook.

Having the same problem. Are there any attorneys that want a class action suit? I’ll bet this is adding up in the millions. How many people aren’t aware of the charges. This company should be sued and fined for credit card fraud. No phone number by design I’m sure. Someone needs to post the phone # I can’t find it. Let’s get these DIRTBAGS!

Thanks to Jamie Zoch for the information on how to cancel the automatic renewal! I was also able to delete my credit card information from the same page. I’m definitely keeping a copy of the ‘undone’ page as proof should I need it. Unfortunately they already billed me for $39 but this should keep it from happening again. Thanks again Jamie!
