I bet when you woke up this morning you didn’t expect to see a Million Dollar Available Domain Name List! Nor did I ever think of making one until my wondering mind that never stops thinking happened to take a list of domain names from a specific location and decide to check availability on the list!
So why is this a "Million Dollar" available domain name list?
Back in 2005 a little known site called MillionDollarHomePage.com was launched. The site sold pixels as advertising spots at $1 per pixel with a minimum of 100 pixels purchased at a time. 1 Million pixels on the site earned Alex the site owner 7 figures and he became a millionaire! The site did sell out with the last 1,000 pixel block selling on eBay for $38,100 and the site states to this day on the home page that it is Sold Out!
Big deal right, the site is almost 5 years old, it can’t get much if any traffic still nearly 5 years later right? According to Compete.com which is often on the low end of a traffic estimate at 35,000+ uniques a month still!
Well, a lot of domain names expire year after year and although domain owners were smart enough to jump into the Million Dollar Home Page and get a link, not all of them were wise enough to continue the registration of the domain name that is linked on the Million Dollar Home Page™!
Quick Points:
- The minimum pixel block is 100 pixels
- MillionDollarHomePage.com is a PR 3
- Spots cost at least $100
- Each domain clearly has at least 1 inbound link from MillionDollarHomePage.com
- I only checked .com, .net, .org, .info, .biz and .us domain names
- A handful of domains have Alexa.com ranking
It is up to you if you register any domain name(s). I am not saying they will get traffic, how long the link will stay in place on MillionDollarHomePage.com etc. The simple fact is, you can register any of the domain names and actually say you have a link on the Sold Out MillionDollarHomePage.com and as stated on Million Dollar Home Page, Own a piece of internet history!
I only ask you click the domain (affiliate linked) and register the domain via Moniker.com. Each domain is directly linked for easy registering!
The list contains 103 domain names and all were available at time of posting! If you register any, please post in the comment section below. It is also a pretty good bet that ALL were developed sites at one time!
I tried to come up with an easy way to find out "where" the pixels are on the site… but had a hard time doing so. I did confirm that each and every domain name is listed. You can visit MillionDollarHomePage.com and then click View Source in your web browser. Copy the code, past into Excel. In Excel, press Ctrl+F and enter in the domain name and click Find All. Once Excel finds the domain (will highlight the row number), you will see a set of numbers that pertain to the location of the Pixels for the specific domain name! For an example imagineastory.com 9,909,701,000,980. I assume that is the exact location of the pixel set. Keep in mind that some domains may hold more than 100 pixels.
Always keep you mind thinking and trying new things.. you never know what you may discover!

that’s a lot of (really bad) dead pool domains

The value those domains provide is links from a themilliondollarhomepage.com which is a PR3
I did the pixel checks. Even though tiny, the PR3 linking is useful

Nice! I posted something like this last year at NamePros. I was able to calculate their ad spend too.

I own a $900 block on that page; it’s the white “A” against a black background on the top right
It was a non-brainer and it brought lots of traffic for quite some time.
