Novartis has announced a voluntary recall of several of its popular brands like Excedren®, Gas-X®, NoDoz® and Bufferen®. The recall was announced on January 9, 2012 but 3 days after the recall, Novartis went on a big domain name shopping spree and purchased 198 domain names related to the recalls.
All the domain names contained a "brand name" but then consisted of many terms. Some of which related to legal terms like GasXLawsuit.com, BufferenCourt.com and GasXSue.com .
Many of the domain names related to the "Broken Pills" and "Wrong Pills", the reason for the recall.
One thing I didn’t see in the recall but domain names were registered, were label problems. GasXPreventionMislabeled.com for an example.

I checked several of the domain names to see where they resolve to, but all of the domains I checked didn’t resolve at all.
All the domain names were registered with MarkMonitor. Even if all the domain names were $10, that puts them in at about 2 grand. $10 would be cheaper than what GoDaddy is currently offering newly registered domain names at, so I would assume MM charges more per domain registration.
Novartis used the domain name Novartis-OTC.com to announce the recall information!
