A thread on NamePros.com states that EscrowDNS.com the newer domain name escrow service that was mainly used by domainers has closed down, for now.

I had just got a very nice mailing the other day from Justin Godfrey the owner of EscrowDNS.com, so hearing this news was pretty surprising. I do know that I have spoke with the owner of Escrow.com awhile back and he stated most escrow services are not doing business legally, because the escrow business is very strict and you need a lot of things (legally, in a lot of states) to run an escrow service. It appears that some of this may be the reason for the current shut down.

The thread on NamePros.com states that there was a message on EscrowDNS.com about the closing:

EscrowDNS is temporarily ceasing operation of it’s domain name escrow service. Any outstanding transactions will be completed as always, no new transactions will be allowed. Several states have vague or modified escrow laws for Internet companies offering escrow services.
