Auto Renew is a nice feature and it has it’s good and bad’s. Each registrar is a little different on how it works. GoDaddy.com’s get’s turned on automatically but at NetworkSolutions.com you have to turn it on manually.

If you choose not to renew a domain, it can also be a pain to shut off auto renew as it’s not something that one does everyday, so it can be a challenge. Here are my "bads" about Auto Renew.

To much trust! ~ I have spoke with many people that said their domain was on Auto Renew, so they felt they had nothing to worry about…. Well, since credit cards expire each year or two, your Auto Renew will not do you much good if the credit card on file is declined due to being expired. Be sure your credit card on file is up to date.

Normal Pricing! ~ At GoDaddy.com there are always discount renewal codes floating around and most will get you a .com domain renewed for under $8. This weekend, I had a couple auto renew and they cost me $10.19 Each… It’s not a huge deal, but when you start adding up $2 + for each domain that you could of saved, it does add up and effect your bottom line.

Security! ~ Now Auto Renew doesn’t directly affect the security of your domain but Auto Renew can prevent you from logging into your account and just looking around. It never hurts just to login and check around to see if anything is missing.

The last time I put up these lists they were a really big hit, so I thought I would offer them up again! I am working on a site to provide these daily, but am having a hard time finding a programmer that knows domain names and the processes etc. I have the site all mapped out and how I want it, so I hope to have something soon to present to you, as long as I can find the programmer.

The first list is the "Traffic" domain list. This list contains about 30K domain names and show at least some data of Traffic at TDNAM.com. You can DL the list and do several things with it. You can copy and past the list into LazyMate.com and do any kind of search on the list you would like. You can also take the list and use the DRT software and get metrics for each domain. If you do not have the DRT software, I offer it for $129 here. Well worth the money, as it’s a one-time fee.

Enjoy the lists and if you have any questions, just let me know. It is interesting that about 130 people per day use the older lists that I posted in some way, shape or form.

If you have about 35 minutes to spare, Dr. Kevin Ham’s speech from the Las Vegas TRAFFIC show is a must watch. He talks of success in the simplier things in life that many people take for granted. Success is NOT just money and I couldn’t agree more.

Dr. Ham broke down success in a 3 way package:

  • Passion/Vision
  • Focus/Determination
  • Scalability

I hope you enjoy the video as much as I did and I strongly back Dr. Ham’s 3 way package of success! Passion and Focus are so important I can not express it enough and the ability to grow is something that bites many companies every single day. The internet is SO powerful, you have to be able to grow!
