Proctor & Gamble has rolled out a new domain name in a Brand Saver ad for coupons of $113 of its very popular products like Charmin®, Bounce®, Olay® and many more. I was a bit surprised to see the domain name used because it didn’t fit with really anything they talked about in the TV commercial. I mean, nothing!
The main message of the ad talked about the P&G Brand Saver Coupons. Brand Saver was mentioned several times and that would have been the better domain name to use in the ad because of the amount of times the term was said. The interesting thing is that P&G owns the domain name BrandSaver.com.
This is likely a case where P&G has used the BrandSaver.com domain in ads and they wanted to use a different domain name to track the current ads running, so they choose to use PGTryIt.com. Just not the best domain IMO and a much better domain could have been used.
Both domain names PGTryIt.com and BrandSaver.com do a redirect to the stand alone website PGEverydaySolutions.com. Using categories, the site appears to be different for each domain name but they reside on the same domain.
As I always state, the domain names are helping them with direct navigation but doing the redirect can fail them when it comes to those who "search". Search engines show very little love to domain names / sites that use a redirect and rarely give them a SERP (search engine rank placement). It is always vital to cover both Direct Navigation and Search traffic!
The PGEverydaySolutions.com site offer much more than just coupons! They offer samples, coupons, promotions, new products, tips and some products even hold the option to purchase online! P&G has been working with Amazon.com in offering some of their products online, which is pretty cool.
Be sure to checkout Coupons.com, which often offers great P&G coupons!
You could visit PGTryIt.com but it will redirect you to PGEverydaySolutions.com
I think the best domain to use for this ad is still BrandSaver.com! Drop the brand name from the domain and just match the keywords you are talking about the most during the ad! Stating Brand Saver, Brand Saver, Brand Saver during the ad and presenting BrandSaver.com for the site to visit, WILL make sense to the viewers. PGCoupons.com wouldn’t hurt either or even brand specific domains like CharminCoupons.com, BountyCoupons.com and OlayCoupons.com to be even more specific.

I use coupons very frequently, however the expiration dates have been shorten to an average of 10 days, the norm use to be about 60 days. What is the problem? Also, i have noticed that most of them do not double or triple.
