A good friend of mine owns a sign shop called 1330Wraps.com here in Green Bay and my mom has an upcoming birthday and she is really hard to buy for. I was talking with Ethan who owns 1330 Wraps and we were tossing around some ideas because I know he can do a lot of stuff with the sign equipment he has. I was digging through some old pictures of my mom from the 50′s and 60′s and I ran into several cool ones with her and her brother in them and I wanted to see if he could turn a paper picture into a painting like design on canvas.
Well, I took a paper picture from the 50′s and took it over to another friends camera store (CCCP.com) and scanned several image’s and put them on a CD. I then headed down to Ethan’s shop with the image’s on a disk (I could have emailed them as well but it has been awhile since we chatted) and he did his magic!
A paper picture scanned onto a disk and my buddy Ethan from 1330 Wraps in Green Bay put the images on his computer and used a high tech digital printer and printed the paper picture onto a heavy canvas material. He then wrapped the canvas material around a recycled screen printing screen and boom! A sweet black and white image digitally printed on canvas that is 20×20 with a studio wrap that makes its own frame!
These pictures of the picture do not do it justice as I just used my point and shoot camera in a crappy lite house so you could see it but these are super sweet in person!
Something pretty unique that really nobody has! It is hard to tell above that it is printed on canvas but the studio wrap in an angle picture below should give you a better idea. It creates its own frame doing the wrap like this.
Nice idea of Ethan to recycle the screen printing frames as it cut down on cost and the screen printing frames are nice and strong. He creates art work on canvas for a lot of companies with the companies logo, pictures of all sorts and different sizes and he really does a great job.
