Pitchmen was pulled from the air only after 3 episodes in late September 2010 with no explanation why. The show happened to stop after a hostage situation at a Discovery building, but that doesn’t appear to be why the show suddenly stopped.
The episode that didn’t make it to air before the plug was pulled, was called "Bear Market" and features a couple new products and the journey they took to bring to market.
Savemate® was set to air when the show was pulled and will be one of the main products featured tonight (1/18/2011) at a new time slot for Pitchmen on the Discovery Channel at 7 PM ET / 6 PM CT.
Savemate is an All-In-One razor and was in the development process for 10 years. Real shaving cream is stored in the handle of the razor and can be dispensed with the push of a button! Flip the razor and start shaving! You get a set of 3 razors with your purchase for only $9.95 plus S&H.
Sully goes to a group of Miss America contestants to give the Shavemate a real human test and the ladies seem happy with the Shavemate!
The "male" version of the Savemate is called the Titan or Titan6 (6 razor blades on the razor)
The "female" version of the Savemate is called the Diva or Diva6 (6 blades on the razor)
Another product that Sully will pitch during the new airing of Pitchmen for 2011 is the Fridge Locker and RX Locker.
The Fridge Locker and RX Locker are pretty unique, but I like the RX Locker prescription medication safe the best! The RX Locker is backed by not only Sully, but also Dr. Drew!
I see the RX locker as a good product for not only preventing kids from getting their hands on medications they shouldn’t, but also the elderly.
The RX Locker is very fairly priced at $13.95 and has 4 out 5 star reviews which is nice to see! This is a piece of mind type product and will likely prevent things from happening that would if the medication bottle were just sitting around. Clearly somebody could take a hammer and smash the product, but if somebody wants the meds that bad, they are going to get them no matter what!
The Fridge Locker looks more like a "spoof" type product than anything when I first saw it, because it’s basically an in-closed plastic basket with a lock hole that you put a lock on. The device is made to be put into a fridge and prevent people from taking food out of it. The Fridge Locker is $19.95 and gets 3 stars out of 5 for reviews.
Ellen had a lot of fun with the Fridge Locker on a past show, which made me laugh like crazy!
So, I’m glad to see Pitchmen return to air and it will be interesting to see how long it stays on this time and what new products they bring to market. A lot of work and money goes into these products and it’s interesting to watch them evolve and go to market. Keep in mind that Pitchmen is still on the Discovery Channel, but is in a new time slot on Tuesdays at 7 PM CT, instead of its old time slot at 8 PM CT.
