One of the nice features at Fabulous.com when using its parking services is that you can mark a domain name for sale. In doing so, there will be two "for sale" banners placed on your parking page for your specific domain name. You can put a price in, select "make an offer" etc.
In this little for sale banner will then be a link that an interested party can click to contact the domain owner. The default setting is an email type contact form they can fill out and you (the domain owner) will get an email contact. This works but what if you would like to send those that click the link in the for sale box to a specific location other than a contact form?
You can! Another option is to put in a specific link to send the interested parties to let’s say your Sedo listing page for that specific domain name. How about your listing page for that domain name on Afternic, your own portfolio site? You can do this and here is how to do it.
Once logged into your Fabulous.com account, click on:
- Sell/Buy Tab
- Account Settings
Under the heading Legacy, the default will have Fabulous Offer Email Forwarding selected. You will need to select the option below that, titled Redirect Sales Traffic.
Upon selecting Redirect Sales Traffic, you will see an empty box below that to enter in a URL. You will need to enter in the specific URL where you want interested parties to go. For an example, if you have your domain names listed on Sedo, you would use this link:
http://sedo.com/search/details.php4?domain=%domain%&tracked=&partnerid=&language=us
One of the important parts of that link above is the %domain% code in the link. That is the way Fabulous.com knows to input the specific domain name of your portfolio that the visitor is on. If the domain name is XYZ.com, once the interested party clicks the for sale link on the Fabulous.com parking page, they will be directed to the specific domain name XYZ.com on Sedo. (you have to have the domain listed with Sedo for this to work).
If you have your domain names listed on Afternic.com, you would use this link:
https://www.afternic.com/name.php?domain=%domain%
Again, you clearly would need to have all the domains you have parked and listed for sale, also listed on Afternic for the above link to work correctly. The option on Fabulous.com is an all or none type deal. You can not set the option to only work for specific domain names. It is account wide for those marked for sale. That is one downside.
You can really use any link structure that allows you to input a URL with a specific domain name. You simply have to put %domain% where the actual domain name would be in the link and it will work. Here are some direct linking URL structures for popular domain services as well in the domain industry.
