The following is my review of EscrowDNS.com the domain name escrow service. I do not have an affiliation with EscrowDNS.com in any way. I simply used the service for a recent domain sales transaction.

Since EscrowDNS is a "newer" domain escrow service and not known industry wide or outside of the domain industry, one thing that I have had issues with is gaining the trust of the domain name buyer to use the service.
Personally, I think every domain escrow service should obtain control of the domain name in the transaction. EscrowDNS.com Does This. The other popular domain escrow service Escrow.com Does Not.
EscrowDNS.com is BBB.org accredited.
EscrowDNS.com is Authorize.net accredited.
EscrowDNS.com is owned by DIS, INC. owned by Justin Godfrey, who is a well known domain name investor.
I expressed to my interested party that I think it’s much safer for both buyer and seller that the escrow service takes control of the domain name during the escrow process. Explaining this, the BBB and Authorize.net accrediation helped build trust into the buyer to use the service.
As with any domain transaction, speed, security and contact are important to most. EscrowDNS.com offers 24/7 support. Any questions I had, were answered very quickly.
I requested payment via Paypal.com and received it in the form of Mass Pay, which removes any "fees" from being taken out of the payment amount when I received it. Escrow.com currently does not offer payout via Paypal.
I split the escrow fees with the buyer for the $1,000 transactions and the fees were $35 each.
The speed of the transaction highly depends on the domain seller and the domain buyer. With that being said, EscrowDNS.com payment approval process and background checking was quick and I felt very secure during the entire process.
I received several emails from EscrowDNS.com during the transaction and never felt "left out" of the process.
I would highly recommend EscrowDNS.com as a secure and quick domain name escrow service. I enjoyed using the service and will gladly use it in the future.
The domain name purchased for the transaction was PanFish.com .

for me, as a California resident, I only use Escrow.com because they are actually LICENSED as an escrow company here.
My primary reason for using any escrow service is to ensure the integrity of the transaction and the safety of my funds. Control of the Domain Name may be something to consider, but unless my escrow provider is licensed in the state I’m doing business and keeps my funds in an FDIC insured account, I couldn’t care less whether they let me control the domain name.
