Any time an entity is constantly selling domain names for 4-6 figures, people should take notice! Another thing to point out, they do have 11.5 Million domain names listed for sale, so they should be! To tell you the truth, they should be selling a lot more IMO!

Sedo only shows a small amount of Recently Sold domains on their home page (13) so one doesn’t know the real total amount of domains they are selling. This week, Sedo reported 75 domain name sales to DnJournal.com from what I counted.

In this same time period AfternicDLS reported clearly more sales. They recently stated they have 3 Million domains for sale on their site. Afternic reported over Double the Sedo sales at 183 that I counted in the DnJournal.com report.

One might look on paper and think Sedo would have More sales then Afternic because they have nearly 4 times the amount of domains for sale then Afternic. Hmmm well, I think in this case it comes down to Quality over Quanity and Direct Advertising that gives Afternic the advantage over Sedo!

I do admit that as a seller, it get’s frustrating by the lack of offers at Both services. I have about 500 domains listed at each. Very rarely I get an offer at either service. Why this is, I am not sure but I do know it gets frustrating and I do not have an answer really ;) I do have good domains listed and most are open to $60 offers via Sedo but the offers do not come in! Lost in the mix?

At Afternic I have min offers set at $750 each domain and Buy It Now prices on All my domains. I do not have them set at "crazy prices", just most with the common numbers Afternic sells all the time. Some example domains I have listed with these prices are 9U.net, ConsumerDefense.com (makes about $100 a month in parking), idgo.com, AutoAccessories.net and MBE.org to name a few. Again, lost in the mix of the Millions of other domains? Afternic focusing on their own domains more then "sellers" domains?

I did get an offer for Manntis.com for $100 this morning at Sedo, but really… Who wants to sell any domain for $100. Don’t forget about Sellers fee, time etc… I also got an offer on YourSpending.com via Fabulous.com contact. Again $100. Come on… IcedCookies.com offer came in as well via Fabulous. $75 on that one… Plus some more, but just not at or near the right prices for me to sell. I do make sure to counter all, but again rare to hear anything back. Rogers Communication was interested in YourSpending.com, which is a Huge company. No reply to my counter..

Good things come with Time. With a Quality portfolio and some time, I hope the offers start coming in via Afternic, get better and more at Sedo and just keep coming in via Fabulous (but get higher).

Do you notice the same thing?
