If you were to visit sellout.woot.com you will be redirected to shopping.yahoo.com/#woot . This is a partnership between Woot.com and Yahoo.com but I’m not a huge fan of all the redirecting and Yahoo! has to be getting the better end of this deal.
Both are big companies, but it can make a person be like… WTF!
By visiting http://sellout.woot.com will redirect you to http://shopping.yahoo.com/#woot but you do not see anything Woot! above the fold on Yahoo! Shopping (without scrolling down). If a person was to scroll down, they would see a smaller box with the Woot item Asus Eee Pc 900 Notebook (refurbished) and the little box says Powered By WOOT @ $179.99!
If you click on any of the links for the product.. you go back to Woot.com again but still on the sellout.woot.com sub domain and a purple matching page to Yahoo.
It looks like Woot! knows this must be confussing, because they even have a block of text up letting people know they are back at Woot! and Woot will be handeling the transaction.
I am all for partnerships and working deals, but when people are getting moved here to there to here to there…. it’s a bit much!
