The Senate Stimulus Bill is being worked out this weekend by members of the Senate. The Senate Stimulus Bill is nearing a Trillion Dollars but appears to be getting trimmed down to about $780 Billion Dollars.

Why isn’t the Government starting to use the internet MORE that helped Obama win! He knows the power of it! SenateStimulusBill.com Why Not? (SenateStimulusBill.com is owned by me and I may forward it to Recovery.gov but I also need data to prove a point and need traffic data. That is why it’s currently parked.) Why doesn’t the government understand and use the power of the internet yet!!! They are starting but I wish they would use it more. Domain forwarding is powerful and using what people are searching for is powerful (more to come). The naming of these bills needs to be thought about more. People want to know and are searching the internet for the info.

Officials put the cost of the Senate package at $827 billion, which combines massive spending, tax cuts and incentives that both the administration and the majority in Congress hope will stimulate the economy into recovery.

Is it $780 Billion, $827 Billion, $1 Trillion? I mean really, it just depends what and where you read but we will find out when the bill is passed.

The Senate Stimulus Bill offers $21 billion to subsidize health care insurance for the unemployed under the COBRA program, compared with $40 billion in the House bill. The House bill also provides $4 billion for preventive care, $1.5 billion for community health centers, $420 million to combat avian flu and $335 million for programs that combat AIDS, sexually transmitted diseases and tuberculosis.

It seems to me that Bill after Bill are being released. With each new bill that is released, it seems the last Multi-Billion dollar one goes on the back burner for people to forget about! $700 Billion Here Bailout Bill, $300 Billion There.. so why not go for a Trillion so people forget about the Multi-Hundreds of Billions that have already been spent!

The biggest problem I see, all these Billions going out and raising the debt are NOT helping!!! The Senate and Congress need to Wake Up! Let the failing companies FAIL. Get a central location for info and Talk About It and keep talking about it so people know where to go. Put some money into the hands of Real People that work hard and produce results. This include internet marketing people… Yes, these are the people that don’t wish to have their faces on TV all the time with a big ass FAKE smile!

Millions of innovative people are ready to start businesses, but it costs so much to even come close to getting your product or service noticed. Put some money in these peoples hands. Have an open Ear! Prevent Hospitals from charging so much for poor care and BS charges! Prevent people for being able to SUE because you sneezed. Stop letting gas/oil companies  Record Profits of Billions and Billions of dollars!

Thank you to SkyDomains.com for this link to the Prez video on the recent Senate Stimulus Bill. I just hope the $$ get used the right way. It seems to me the last Bailout Bill changed course after it passed and most of the money was spent for something other then voted on???

More info on SenateStimulusBill.com to come….

The important question is not if it’s $780 Billion or $1 Trillion, but instead, how much is SentateStimulusBill.com going to sell for?

    Slow your roll, Turbo :P

This isn’t a bailout bill like the last one. It is not going to specifically bail out companies that dug their own grave.

This bill is going towards infrastructure; specifically things like roads, highways, health care, parks, the electrical grid, making it easier for solar/wind power to be put on the grid, broadband access and the like.

The reason why most feel this is stimulus is because it will create american jobs for something we actually need, as opposed to going to a CEO’s bonus and parties like the previous bailout.

Some also feel it’s stimulus because it is being spent in america and going directly into the economy where it can be multiplied (such as paying a construction company to expand a freeway, who then hires more employees, who get paid and buy things, etc. The money gets…. laundered through the economy, for lack of a better word.)

Whereas a stimulus check like last year’s $600 likely was saved or used to pay off debt. Everyone I know used it to pay off debt. Paying off debt is responsible and a good thing, unfortunately it doesn’t stimulate the economy. That money is not getting multiplied. It simply doesn’t stimulate.

    What sounds better?

    1)Stimulus check for each person>Debt
    2)Infrastructure Stimulus>Construction Company>Employees>Food/Rent/Misc/Debt.

It’s the multiplier that is key.

And if it passes -and it will- the construction industry will get pretty darn big.

    @ Scott,
I heard they took out the Broadband part? Which was something I would be happy with as it makes sense. I only question the construction part of the bill because how many people can work construction? In Wisconsin and many Northern States, many construction crews are laid off about 4-5 months (Oct-March) of the year because “weather” doesn’t all them to do it. So then what?

I’m not sure about the broadband part. I hope they didn’t take it out. And frankly I’d be surprised if they did as it’s relatively inexpensive and quite high on Obama’s want list. But you never know.

I think construction is a pretty big industry that hires a diverse group of people. It’s not just the heavy lifting out in the field. You have engineers, designers, secretaries, IT personnel, general clerks. I see this end of the industry all the time with my job. I’ve worked with large construction companies that have hundreds or even thousands of employees, to small construction companies that have 10.

Growing up in Detroit, I know that construction slows down greatly in the winter due to the hardened ground and cold weather. But that’s the outdoor actual construction part. Those engineers, designers, IT folk, clerks and whatnot keep on working.

It’s not a perfect solution by any means, but it’s a hell of a lot better than the bailout of last year. One thing is for sure: it will be an interesting thing to live through.

@ Scott. I heard McCain say that it will take “to much time” to do the broadband…. What does he know. LOL
You make many great points Scott. I hope for the best and it will be interesting as you said!
