Yesterday I wrote about the Slots.com domain name auction that is currently live on SnapNames and it appeared the reserve price was $6,000,000 USD because that was what the minimum bid amount was. So, I still think that $6 Million is the reserve price and it may have "leaked" by mistake.
Today when I checked, the minimum bid price had been lowered to $4,000,000 but the "Reserve Range" is still stated at $5MM and Up as it was yesterday. When the auction started yesterday, the minimum bid price was $6 million but sometime after I looked at the auction yesterday, a bid was placed but at $4 Million!
The $4 million dollar bid is by the bidder username CasinoCity
Under bid history, it states 2 bids are placed but I only see the one bid from CasinoCity:

Although the auction has not met its reserve price, clearly there is interest at $4 Million from at least one bidder. There is 6 days left in the auction and as most of us know… bidding picks up on the final day, so seeing at least 1 bid on the first day of the auction is some good news. You can view the live Slots.com domain name auction here.
Here is also a screen shot showing the two bids I was talking about.

I hope this domain name sells and the $4 Million bid is a promising sign. I really have no way to know who is behind the bidder ID of casinocity but CasinoCity.com is a gambling directory. CasinoCity.com is registered with Moniker.com and according to whois records, the email address on file is associated with 133 domain names.

I predict a failed auction. I’ll bet they won’t even get the $4-million that has already been offered.

I’d like to see this sell and be developed by an end user–more end users would help this industry tremendously.
