Several months ago, SnapNames.com was the leader in the field. Since Network Solutions moved on due to a loophole in the contract they had when Oversee.net purchased Snap Names, the site has went downhill in more ways then one!
One thing Snap Names does not seem to understand, is people do trust their system! When I back order a domain, I should be able to have trust in them, that the auction of the domain I back order will start when they say it will or if the auction will even take place. I have to plan ahead with finances and so on….. So I see it very important the info they provide to be accurate.
The facts! Do Not trust there system. Here are some examples WHY!
They just simply do not update there system, as they should. They auction off domains they do not own, Click here to see proof, which many times is due to Ghost Records, which is not fully their fault, but shows it does happen and they need to check Deeper then they do.
The info provided below, IS their fault.
YFP.com SnapNames.com Still shows today (3-19-2008), that the auction is due to start March 21, 2008. The domain was renewed on 3-2-2008! So that is 17 days so far, that the domain should not be listed, but still is!
Addo.com SnapNames.com Still shows today (3-19-2008), that the auction is due to start March 20, 2008. The domain was renewed on 3-3-2008! So that is 16 days so far, that the domain should not be listed, but still is!
Wovo.com SnapNames.com Still shows today (3-24-2008), that the auction is due to start March 24, 2008. The domain was renewed on 3-6-2008! So that is 13 days so far, that the domain should not be listed, but still is!
Now that was just 3 that I "double checked" that were in my account. I also did a search on SnapNames.com for each domain and all still show they will be going to auction still with the dates listed.

A big agree…I constantly check names that have been renewed a long time prior…sometimes even after I HAVE “CHECKED OUT”…
