The default permalink structure in wordpress is also not very SEO change it to /%postname%/%post_id%/ /%postname%.htm etc. There are many other ways to improve the SEO of your wordpress sites but these two are very important. Its the voice of the beehives, but what about the time factor? Not a reason, more of an excuse but still important if you have a job and are studying and want a family life. What I especially agree with is that you should have a plan about what to do with every one of your domains as this forces you to think through who would type it in and what they would expect.
