@Yaron
However with a domain you pay a yearly fee to own it while many stocks have a divined that pays you to own it. I would not really agree with your analogy.

Now if you develop the domain that is a different story as it can pay you while you own it but then it is not really passive like owning a stock.

If you do develop your sites using wordpress remember to download the plugin called "all in one SEO Pack". The default permalink structure in wordpress is also not very SEO change it to /%postname%/%post_id%/
/%postname%.htm
etc.
There are many other ways to improve the SEO of your wordpress sites but these two are very important. Also cut down on duplicate content by using no-indexing of categories, archives an so on.

Could not disagree with what the article says.

Its the voice of the beehives, but what about the time factor? Not a reason, more of an excuse but still important if you have a job and are studying and want a family life.

What I especially agree with is that you should have a plan about what to do with every one of your domains as this forces you to think through who would type it in and what they would expect.

@Yaron

Very true, if you know what you are doing then buying and holding can be a great strategy. However, you can also be leaving money on the table if you do not develop the domains in your current inventory.

Jamie,
In the stock market sometimes you "buy and hold" this is a long term investment strategy, and probably one of the best.
so buying a domain name and holding it for 10 years is not a bad idea if you know what you're doing.

Agree...the domains are only as good as they are developed.

I market my site by wearing the t-shirt with the site printed and now people wants to buy. Sooner, I will license the trademark/logo
