I did a scan of todays Pending Delete domains and was looking at "age" via Creation Date / Expiry Date. When I sorted the list, I had seen some things that just do not match up…..

DianeRihn.com drops today. It’s in pending delete status and has been for 6 days now… The odd thing, the domain doesn’t  expired until 5-03-2017 ? How is a domain dropping when it doesn’t expire for another 9 years? Whois.sc and Verisign whois (the registry) both confirm the Pending Delete status…. SnapNames.com shows to Backorder it by today as well.. hmmm

Orbbi.com drops today. It’s in pending delete status and has been for 6 days now… The odd thing, the domain doesn’t  expired until 8-16-2011 ? Verisign Whois.sc SnapNames.com shows to Backorder orbbi.com by today 7-31-2008… hmm

From my understanding, once a domain is in Pending Delete status, it can not be renewed… So I don’t know if these were renewed or what. Their is a total of 1,349 .com & .net domain names that have an Expiry date of 7-31-2008 or Greater (up to 2017) which all show they will (should) drop today. Hmmm 1,349 domains that are not even expired are deleting? That doesn’t make sense really, but some things with domains are just hard to explain I guess.

A domain like RealHug.com that just Expires today (7-31-2008)… but also happens to be Pending Delete already for 6 days and shows it will drop today.. Hmm Their appears to be 69 .com domains total that "Expire today", but also happen to be Pending Delete already and dropping today… most of the domains are with Snap Names registrars like uDomain.com and Finduadomain.com etc but a couple are Godaddy domains.

Again, something that I can’t really explain.. I guess domains and their processes are just "odd" and shows their really is not a "set" process for a domain name.

I have noticed on NameJet that some names reappear i.e. I query for certain words, a particular domain appears with an order date deadline a few days in the future. I decide to not pursue the domain but a month later I run that query again and the domain reappears. Either ENOM or Network Solutions is retaining certain domains waiting for an eventual backorder. Perhaps they hold onto domains with a certain number of queries???

eNom was sure HOT on the PD drops today! They grabbed Orbbi.com as well as DianeRihn.com and many, many others . I reminded myself why I don’t waste my time going for them anymore. I was goose egged today! Plus how domains that should not of really expired did for what ever reason.

How to scan pendingdelete names? Is there any special API software products available for every extension?

I am not sure any tool works with Every TLD, but you can visit the DRT Tool link on the far right. That is a great tool, but it is not specific for just Pending Delete domains.
