If you are looking to promote something like a domain name for sale, current running domain name auction, the launch of a new domain related product or service or really anything related to the domain name industry, I would advise to purchase a Sponsored Headline at Domaining.com!

Domaining.com

Why? Because it works and drives a fair amount more traffic to your article!

Most articles I write specifically about the domain industry get about 150-300 views a day. The second day, it may be lucky to hit 100 views. A lot of this depends on what I write about or if the topic is really hot and so on, but you get my point. Most of the time "sales" type articles get lower traffic amounts unless its a gem at a great price!

Yesterday (1/3/2011) I wrote an article with several domain names I had for sale that I was looking for offers on, send it to auction style at Sedo and one with a buy it now etc. I did a sponsored headline with the article on Domaining.com for 24 hours at a cost of $150 USD.

Stats for the article during the 24 hour period:

1/3/2011 article views: 691

1/4/2011 article views: 632

As important as the views, what kind of action (clicks) did I get on the links posted in the article for the domains?

A lot really! Here is a screen shot that doesn’t even show any links that got lower than 8 clicks for the day.

Link clicks from Domaining.com Sponsored Headline

59 clicks to the HWE.net auction a lone for the two days.

34 clicks to view the SBEI.com domain listing page in two days.

32 clicks to view the MyRefill.com listing page in two days and so on.

All the domains got clicks with some getting many more due to pricing and structure of my listings.

I really will not be able to tell exactly how it effected if I got a bid / offer or what the domains sell for from the headline itself, but I can tell you that with the traffic stats from above, traffic was DOUBLE than it would have been! Clicks to the domain listings were much higher than normal, likely more than double!

I sold the one domain I had listed as a buy it now for $375 and I got 9 offers via Sedo, in which I sent 3 domains to auction so far and each domain has at least 2 bids. I did get several $60 offers on domains that I didn’t intend to list, to get low offers on.. like MyRefill.com, Uked.com etc. and I haven’t decided if I want to counter offer on those or if people assumed they would get to sent to auction at $60 like several other domains listed would.

Overall, I think the $150 was well spent and the Sponsored Headline on Domaining.com was well worth every penny spent! I’m 90% sure you do not need a "blog" to have a sponsored headline, just a Domaining.com account.

You can visit the Domaining.com/Advertising page to find out more information about sponsored headlines or advertising. You will need a free Domaining.com account to get started. Your sponsored headline also goes on top of the Domaining.com daily newsletter.

You can also contact Domaining.com with any questions you may have. I would highly recommend using the Sponsored Headline on Domaining.com!

Interesting post. I’ve always wanted to know what kind of results people get from that guy’s operation there. Now I know.

That is what blogs are meant to do. Give practical information. Thanks for sharing. I might give it a try.

Most new advertisers don’t know but you can get up to 30% discount (read at bottom of the advertising page) just showing a Domaining.com award or an “I Love Domaining” badge into your homepage. In fact all the repetitive advertisers do it.

A link to your sponsored listing from 1/3/2011 would be helpful. We’d put a few offers in now if we had access to the names…Congrats new Dad!!

    congrats on your exposure!

I was thinking about paying the $XXX to be listed on domaining’s site but I need to update my layout before dishing out that cash!

congrats on the domain sales too – now im considering becoming a member even more than before – I might be able to make that amount back easily IF i also feature some domains for sale
