CNN aka Turner Broadcasting owns some 4,927 domain names according to whois records and they have been slowly changing DNS on a lot of them. This allows people like you and me to take a sneak peek at them using the free site RegistrarStats.com that I have talked about several times.
I am not sure why they are changing DNS on a large portion of their domain names but they are and a lot of the ones that I checked that they moved, simply do not resolve, some forward to other domains and some are sites.
Since the start of 2010 they have changed DNS on over 2,000 of the domain names they own. I would compile a full list for you but it is best if you use the same process I did to see them.

- Start Date: 01/01/2010 to Today’s date
- Click any of the hyperlinked IN numbers to see the domains
As of today, they have moved 2,497 domain names to this specific DNS. The actual DNS is ns5.timewarner.net but RegistrarStats only works by using what I stated above.
I was browsing through many of the domain names and they own some pretty odd ones and many that make you wonder what they had in mind using it for. Here are some that stuck out at me and a lot of them are FUNNY:

iReport.net which they purchased in October 2007. We hear a lot about the .com but I wasn’t aware they purchased the .net as well. They used secret domain shopper TenPenny for the purchase.

Well I guess I could go on and on with the funny ones, head shakers and a few nice ones from time to time. If you were really wondering… SackFlashers.com forwards to AdultSwim.com which is also owned by Turner. AdultSwim.com is a game related site. They own mainly .com but a mix of .net, .org, .biz, .us, .mobi and even .asia . I just thought you may find it interesting to see what they own and how you can see them.
Quick Fact: CNN/Turner Broadcasting let ColdWar.com simply expire. The domain was auctioned on NameJet.com and sold for $7,900 USD in June 2009.
