Toyota® has rolled out a new ad campaign for their 2011 Scion TC Coupe and is using the domain name TakeOnTheMachine.com in TV advertisements to continue their message online.
"At Scion, we feel that the aggressive features of this next-generation tC are very exciting, and we know that a lot of young owners will be equally impressed," said Jack Hollis, vice president of Scion. "Since the all-new 2011 tC offers drivers more power and better handling than the previous model, as well as more aggressive styling and standard premium features, we feel the celebrity treatment is very well deserved."
Toyota used ATTIK’s agency for the campaign.
TakeOnTheMachine.com was registered by Toyota on March 22, 2010 and the ads started running in September 2010. Toyota has registered the domain name out until 2013 currently and used the domain name registrar CSC Corporate Domains Inc. which many large brands use as a registrar.
Toyota only registered the .com version of the domain name but a "Kevin Heller" according to whois records registered the .us version in September after the ads started running by Scion. TakeOnTheMachine.us does a redirect to TheMachineUs.com .

TakeOnTheMachine.com does a simply redirect to Scion.com, which many know that I am not a fan of because it doesn’t allow you to get the most out of the domain name and advertised keywords! The domain forwards to http://www.scion.com/takeonthemachine and that is also the page that ranks in search engines for similar search terms. Toyota is also using Google AdWords to further help bring in customers.
Toyota also owns the domain name ScionTC.com but that domain name doesn’t resolve at all and is currently not in use. This domain was registered back in 2003.
