The NBC show The Biggest Loser is about to kick off season number 8 tonight by helping contestants lose some weight.. well, a lot of weight really.

Since the internet has become so popular, it is vital for companies that launch TV shows, products or services  to match their "Name" with a matching .com domain name!

The Biggest Loser aka NBC, owns and uses several domain names for it’s hit show, but they are missing an Important One! The shows full name is The Biggest Loser but they (NBC) does not own the domain name TheBiggestLoser.com!

NBC owns and uses BiggestLoser.com, BiggestLoserClub.com and the NBC.com/The-Biggest-Loser .

According to whois records, a Theodore Lazier of Homestead, FL is the owner of the domain name TheBiggestLoser.com . If you were to pay a visit to the site as several thousands of people do monthly, Theodore is sure making the site "look like" it’s part of the NBC show The Biggest Loser. Theodore is using CJ.com (affiliate network)  with ads and affiliate links for the majority of the site.

Also to note, no place on the site does it say TheBiggestLoser.com is not affiliated with the TV show The Biggest Loser.

Theodore… Your a Cybersquatter and I hope NBC takes your ass to court! What Theodore is doing is trying to profit from the brand NBC owns and this is a No No. With the actions taken on the website, even though the domain was purchased in 2004, gives NBC the right to file a suit due to the current owner profiting from a registered trademark. This is also called Bad Faith.

The whois has changed several times in the years the domain has been registered and was private registration for most of 2006-2009 until June 14, 2009 when it shows Theodore Lazier. In 2004, whois also showed Theodore and F.O.O.T Entertainment as the owners. In 2006 the whois changed to a Vladimir Farriano before going to private registration and back to Theodore in 2009 when privacy was removed.

I found a blog post that is on TheBiggestLoser.com as well from 2007 and it has over 13,000 Comments from the one post! A lot are spam… but still.

Bad Karma?

I am not saying this is the same "Theodore Lazier" that is shown as the owner of TheBiggestLoser.com, but a Theodore Lazier from Homestead, FL was recently arrested for kidnapping and sexual assault. This same Theodore Lazier that was arrested was a former University of Florida graduate and according to whois records in 2004 for TheBiggestLoser.com, an email address of  tvbusiness@alumni.ufl.ed was used.
