Well, several people loved my "Godaddy Trick" that I wrote about yesterday. I mean, who wouldn’t. It all makes sense after I pointed it out, minus one part… The part that stated: "Godaddy has stated several times they do not warehouse domain names" that was a key point.

Well, DomainNameWire.com revealed what YOU would of told me and others not that long into using my revealed trick. That it didn’t work and it looks like mainly One Company was getting all the domains. I would reveal more but Andrew from DNW.com has solid proof and explains it very well. When you combine reading what I wrote in the "trick" post and what Andrew wrote, it makes more sense. So click on the link above and have a read. Then come back… click it…

So now that you are back from reading…

It’s pretty shocking isn’t it. My post would of proved to all that tried the trick that Godaddy or at least it was clear that nearly all the domain names that have traffic or Godaddy had priced higher that didn’t get a "bid" never did drop. You may or may not of noticed that most were being "picked up" by a company called Standard Tactics LLC or had Godaddy’s privacy service.

Godaddy’s going to get a black eye in the domain world after this get’s passed around! If you didn’t read Andrew’s post, go read it now.

    Does godaddy own LeaseDomains.com?

    **Jamie Says**
I would say no Ross. It’s just a godaddy reseller account and appears to be owned by somebody in Ill.

No Kidding! I think out of the big ones, Moniker would be the only one that I think is clean!

While the warehousing of domains does limit the supply of reg fee / backorder domains for domainers, can one really blame the registrars for doing this? Regardless, I’ll have to take a closer look at TDNAM auctions. I generally don’t look there but one time I did catch a spectacular domain via Godaddy auctions as I was checking out the Domain Tools whois for a domain and noticed it was in TDNAM auction for $10. The prior registrant had failed to renew but Godaddy still charged me an extra fee of $10 because the normal deletion process had not yet completed.

Agree Leonard. If most of us weren’t concerned with getting rock bottom registration and renewal prices for our domains, registrars might also not need to get into this kind of stuff.

Really, there’s no way a registrar can be profitable at a 50c to $1 premium over wholesale, considering credit card fees, chargebacks, tech support, other overhead costs.

Obviously something has to give and some corners will either need to be cut (eg. with hosting, tech support, other services), or we’ll see something like this.

Personally, it doesn’t really bother me, but then again I’m not very active on the drop scene.

Since you mentioned godaddy, I’ll also share my recent findings for Godaddy.com promo codes. I am a Bookkeeping Site Developer, and these codes come in very handy when purchasing or renewing an internet domain name. Use Godaddy promo code ZINE3 for $7.49 .com domains and renewals. I save about $35 every time I buy domains. When I buy at least 5 domain names, I also get free private registration when I use ZINE3. For other Godaddy coupons, use ZINE1 for 10% off, ZINE2 for $5 off any $30+ purchase, and ZINE25 for $25 off any purchase of $100 or greater, like hosting plans. These promo codes are current, working, and do not expire. Hope these Godaddy.com coupons save just as much dough for the other readers as they have for my projects. Have a good day!
