With Estibot you could not evaluate cctld's anyway. I remember that it said somewhere on the site it only factors US search results estimates, so if you entered a .co.uk domain with 40,000 exact local searches but only say 500 global searches outside of the UK then it would give a way undervalued estimate.

btw, estibot values estibot.com at $440,000 :)

@Futurequest,
I would hope they get the $$ amount correct after they have the sale in a database already! ;)

It's interesting to look at services like Valuate. I agree some of the domains I put in don't give me the value I feel a domain is worth.

However, try putting in Candy.com on Valuate.com and you will see that the appraisal price is almost identical to what it actually sold for. I was quite amazed to see that. I would say services like these should definitely pay a part in evaluating prices but should not be the end all.

Just for info appraisals used in BargainDomains.com are calculated in real time by the version 2.0 of Estibot.com that is still in BETA. Valuate.com uses the same engine and when BETA will terminate both services shuld serve the same appraisal values.

I don't know what they were usingin previous versions but in this new one Estibot uses Google global search data for the search popularity and no longer the old Overture data you are speaking about.

I will not enter into the debate for or against appraisals as it has been discussed so many times in the past and in so many places...
