It seems like I just did a this and that post not all that long ago.. Oh well, not much free time today to blog, but here was what I was up to.

~ I was working on some SEO via my blog today. Lot’s of things to learn, but many things make sense what I was reading and trying to apply to DotWeekly.com . If you want to read some PREMO info on SEO for WordPress, Yoast.com and this SEO post are well worth your time and the read. 1 hour video if you wish to watch then read.

~ After reading about SEO a little bit, here is something Aaron Wall wrote that will make you want to improve your SEO. The article is titled: How Much Money is a Top Google Ranking Worth? It will take you a bit to read it, but it’s well worth the read for anybody that owns a site or is thinking about building one. A lot of great examples with proven facts.

The article shows you right off the bat the traffic difference between ranking #5 and #1 on Google. (which happens to be 8.5 Times the amount of traffic) 6,000 uniques at #5 and 50,000 @ #1… Again, both links above are well worth the read.

~ Lot’s of chat about the Bido.com auction today and the lack of quality of domains listed lately. The domain MyEntitlement.com sold for $2 USD. BuyCheaply.com sold for $16 on last Friday, DressOrganic.com for $55 and HipHopPhotography.com for $28. I think the prices speak volumes of the quality. I’m sure the quality will pick up, as Bido has a great plateform in place… the domains just need to get better and be consistant.

~ BuyExpiringDomains.com is getting a Full new look and should be ready within a couple days. Pretty excited about rolling it out. I gave Vessio.com another shot and Mike is pulling through as he did before the back log problems awhile back. I will let you know soon when it’s ready. Sneak Peak to the right… New colors, new functions etc.

~ I have heard many times when Domaining.com had went to a pay site and then back and then a pay site and then back (LOL) that if a Donate button would be added, people would use it…. Well, I put up a Donate Button on the upper right part of DotWeekly.com and so far I have had One (1) person donate. So I think those who think Donate buttons are a way of making some $$$ on a free site, it doesn’t work.

I have a very hard time making $$$ with banner ads as well. I do get some clicks, but they do not seem to turn into $ all that much. In text links seem to do the best, but still really do not do much. Advertising seems to be the best way to make $$ on a site, but it is a strong commitment to have paying advertisers I must say.

I have a new little trick that I may give a shot pretty quickly. It will be something along the lines of  "Let Me, Help you" to give you a hint. Advertising, but in a different way.

~ Twitter.com was down a lot today but what can you expect from an extremely popular "free" site. It won’t be long and I think Twitter will no longer be free or Google or Facebook will purchase it. I think people would actually pay a small fee $5-$15 per month to use it. That’s if they were smart, they would pay to use it. It needs some improvements… I hate replying and the person reading a reply has NO Clue on what you are replying about. Same thing if somebody replies to one of your tweets.

~ WeddingPicture.com ends tomorrow at Afternic auction. The domain name WILL sell. I sent it to auction at Afternic.com on a $1,500 offer. You can see the auction here: http://www.afternic.com/name.php?id=20543445 . If you visit WeddingPicture.com you will notice it goes directly to the auction listing…. Not a bad idea if you are selling a similar domain ;)

~ I added prices to all my domain names via Sedo.com after I wrote about How to list a domain on Sedo with a Price That took a bit of time, as I had to sync listing prices but I hope it pays off with increased offers and sales.

Pretty busy day! Hope you had a good one! Feel free to post a Comment, I look forward to chatting.

One Response to This and that from me to you….

Nice of you to give Mike another shot, but readers should know that there are still several people out there waiting for 6 months for delivery of projects and “promises” to return money. The “new and reformed Mike made more of these promises in december and never came through for several domainers.
It is a personal choice to do business with someone who cheats and deceives others as long he is correct with you, but readers should still know.
