Here is a tip going around for domain name renewal at Godaddy.com . Be sure to follow the steps exactly or this will not work!

UPDATE: It appears this does not work any longer

Log in at Godaddy.com

Go to Domains / My Domains

Put Check Mark next to 1 (one) Domain you wish to renew

Click Renew / Renew Domain

Adjust it to 1 Year

Continue until you get all the way to the shopping cart without adding anything else.

Once the one domain is in your shopping cart:

Go to Hosting / Web Site Hosting (you will need to add hosting to get this to work.)

Select Deluxe Plan 1 mo ($6.99/mo)! Be sure to change from the default to the 1 Month.

Click the Add button

Now in the shopping cart add the discount coupon code gdr0717z . Apply Coupon.

Your total should be $2.17 Total!

Repeat process as many times as you wish no matter what TLD!

You basically get the domain for $1.99 because you are buying hosting, but using the gdr0717z $10 off coupon code, you are getting the hosting for FREE and the domain renewal for $1.99 plus $0.20 ICANN fee.

If you do two domains at a time, you will need to add two hosting.. and your total for renewing two domains will be around $4 ish each domain.. so it’s cheaper to do it 1 domain at a time. Adding the hosting and using the coupon code above, gives you $10 off total!.

If you do not need any of the hosting, be sure to Cancel the hosting or you will get charged $6.99 per month in about a month per hosting account! Trust me, it’s just best to cancel it right away!

To cancel the hosting even though you just bought it:

Go to Hosting / My Hosting Account

Click the (Hosting Account) which is the select all button.

Cancel Account

Then on right, click the green Save Changes.

Be sure if you do use or have hosting with Godaddy, not to cancel the hosting account you want / need! Again, if you do not cancel the hosting accounts you just purchased, you will get charged $6.99 / mo when the 1 month comes up.

I’m not sure how long this will stay open, so act now if you wish to get domain renewals for $2.17 USD!

It does not work anymore but if you renew your .com domain name without using any code, then you pay 10,86 USD. With the method above, you pay 9,16 USD for renewal and get 1-month of hosting with your renewal. It is still cheaper than just renewal. But there may be better codes to use, of course.

    Baris,

The best current code to renew .COM domains is
    DNF2.

That gives a renewal price of $7.39 plus .18 cents
    ICANN fee = $7.57
