It is not often that I transfer domain names, but when you have to do it, it always seems to be a nightmare!!!! About a month ago, I transfered about 15 domains Out of Network Solutions to Godaddy. I had to do Each domain by itself to get the auth code for each one. Pain in the Ass! The part at Godaddy.com was easy and painless, but getting the info I needed from Network Solutions (auth codes), was a pain. I have also done internal transfers at Network Solutions and that is also a pain. If you do a single domain, it’s not all that bad, minus the 4 hour wait to get the Accept Transfer email. 4 Hours, come on! Doing more then one "push" they need to add a bulk feature for internal pushes from one account to another, because you have to do the "push" process for every single domain.
Today, I am transferring 9 domains from Godaddy.com to Moniker.com . Now to get the auth codes for each domain at Godaddy, I had to click each domain and have the auth code sent via email. PAIN! Once I got all 9 emails from Godaddy with the auth codes, I logged in at Moniker and started the bulk transfer. You have to type in the domain name then a comma and the auth code. Again, one by one.
So I get an email from Moniker after all this is done. You always have to Accept the transfer for security reasons. So in the email from Moniker, it says "Please read the following important information about transferring your domain name:
By choosing , you agree to our terms of service located at:" Then a link here to Agree to the TOS… NOT, no freakin place to Agree to the terms anyplace… Wow, piss me off. At this point I was thinking it has to still be April Fools Day! I clicked that link 5 times and still I see no place to click to Agree to the terms….
So now I have to submit a ticket to find out why there is no place for me to accept the terms, Because as it states "Once you have reviewed and agreed to our terms of service, the transfer will take place within five (5) calendar days unless the current registrar of record denies the request." I have to accept the terms before the transfer can take place, so now it’s a waiting game to hear back from my submitted ticket. There is no reason for this and All registrars need to clean up the transfer process (maybe except Godaddy) as it is one of the hardest things to do. Most of the time you have to visit several pages, click this, click that, wait 5 days and so on.
Here I thought it was going to be easy to list domains on SnapNames.com now… Geessshhhhh, guess not!

You can get auth codes in bulk from GoDaddy for sure. You have to do an export of your domains from their control panel and make sure to put “auth code” as one of the exportable fields. Don’t remember how I did it with Network Solutions, but I think you can do it in bulk with NetSol as well.

I have done severl domain transfers and you are 100% right on the dot that it is a pain in the back end (you have to transfer one domain name after another – approve the transfer, get the transfer code and etc.).
But you know what they say – NO pain No gain.

You’ve obviously never had to transfer a .uk domain – about a half hour of paperwork per domain. Yes, a pen and paper!

No I have not and just for that reason.
