Twitter.com is a pretty amazing tool. You can get answers nearly Instantly, find people locally, offer your products or services and so much more.
One problem with any service that takes a few seconds to create an account to post whatever you want is Spammers and people that do bad.
Twitter allows you to post Anything (almost anything, but you get my point) and when you post a link, most people use a URL shortening tool like TinyUrl.com or XR.com or Twitter will automatically take your url and shorten it.
This allows the person that posts the link to "Hide" what the real destination is when a user clicks the link.
In the past, there was No Way to tell where that shortened link went. It could take you to a porn site, a site that could do harm to your computer, an affiliate link or just Google.
Today, I noticed an "Expand" and "Contract" clickable feature next to any shortened url when you use the Search Feature. http://search.twitter.com

The tweets from the people that you follow do not offer the Expand/Contract feature, nor does the Everybody option but I am glad to see this on the search feature, as it allows you to see the full url which will show you were you will go if you click a shortened link.
If you never used Twitter before, Check it out! You can also follow me and see what I write. http://twitter.com/yofie
