Twitter.com appears to have rolled out a new homepage design that took me by surprise a little. The new change currently appears only to be the homepage.

Twitter.com New Homepage Design

Normally with a bigger change like this, it’s not a bad idea to have some text on the homepage About the new change. Something like: Do you like the new design? etc to not confuse people with the new look.

I don’t mind the new change, but to me, it doesn’t seem to be a big improvment in any way that I can tell. Once you login, it’s the same as it was before.

I think it’s an improvement, twitter is becoming the ‘pulse’ of the internet, where you can find instant info on breaking news. With this new page, visitors can do a search right away, plus see the cloud of trending topics. Next we will probably see ads down the right side of results – lol.

    Jamie -

Yes, today was a real mess:

    - the twitter change you mention above
    - 80% of my twitter accounts (and many other peoples’) showing 0 followers for a while
    - flashtweet started charging
    - our macbook is crashing

I just took the day off!
