People buying typos are much more matured and would find that the original name has no alexa ranking. This reminds me of people bidding on idns on Sedo. I use the same trick of copying and pasting the name without the extension in Google search to see if Google suggest me an alternative spelling. Inaddition you can also copy and paste the name in a word document(or any other document with spell checker on) and check the spelling provided the name has only dictionary words.
