Another way to find specific domain names is to track them via DNS (domain name servers). Many domain name registrars convert expired domain names to specific DNS when a domain name expires and there are a couple tools available that track domain names specifically by DNS.
RegistrarStats.com is one of the more popular and free tools. If you have never used the site before, check it out and play around a little bit. The information is obtained every 24 hours as the registry updates and is heavily data filled so it can be a little slow at times.
The 3 most popular links that I use via Registrar Stats are the Most Active, Top Movements and the one I use the most… Movements By Name.
Movements By Name allows you to search by specific domain name server. For an example, you enter in exactly how the DNS is displayed on Registrar Stats. Understanding that Network Solutions domain names use the DNS PENDINGRENEWALDELETION.COM , you take that exactly and enter it into the box on the Movements By Name page. (no need to include NS1 etc.) You can then set a date range and click Apply to see results.
The data provided will show:
- Date (info was from)
- DNS
- New
- In
- Out
- Removed
Those are the most important and functional number sets. New, In, Out and Removed should all show a number you can simply click and the domain names will be displayed in a list format. On the page the domain names are displayed, you can even export the list in simple text, Excel or print the page.
You will mainly focus on the "IN" domain names. These are the newly expired domain names that will be added as Pre-Release domain names on NameJet.com if the domain name is not renewed. These lists are as raw as they come but a great starting point for you to use. I mainly take the lists and run a scan using DRT but you can also use the bulk tools at Estibot.com to gain some valuable information.
This can sometimes provide you with a list before the domains hit NameJet but also provide you with Specific lists of only Network Solutions domains. Several registrars send domain names to NameJet, so this is one way to separate the domains if you wish. Some registrars use a generic DNS for mainly all domain names, which include sites like GoDaddy and eNom. Tucows uses a specific dns for expired domains and is RENEWYOURNAME.NET
The other site to track domains via DNS is DailyChanges.com which is a DomainTools.com site. Keep an open mind when playing around and discovering domain names by DNS and you can find out a lot more than most tools simply provided have. I have a pretty long list of DNS and who and what they are for and I may share that in another post, so keep on coming back to DotWeekly.com.

Good suggestion.
I also find that using the advance search option on Namejet’s platform works well too.

Mr Domainer
And what can i use this for?
I can export ALL Pre Release Domains on namejet.com as a csv-file.

@ Mr Domainer,
Open your mind and use it for A LOT of things.

Hi, just a question. If a domain name is from Network Solutions (info from Whois) and the status shows at NameJet after searching is Pre-Release, is it better for me to backorder it from NameJet instead of other sites ike Snapnames.com, Pool.com etc?
Thanks so much for answering my previous questions. =)
Jamie Zoch
@Clara,
Yes Network Solutions expired domain names go exclusively to NameJet, so that is where you would need to place the order. If the domain would happen NOT to be listed in the Pre-Release, it could mean a couple things but then it would be wise to place an order at all services.
Clara
@Jamie,
Hi, thanks for your quick reply.
So if I order the domain name which type is Pre-Release for the minimum bid of US$69 and when the order-by date come and I’m the only bidder, I will get the domain name after paying US$69, right?
Since Network Solutions expired domain names go exclusively to NameJet, do I still have to place my bid on other site like Snapnames.com, Pool.com etc?
I’m looking forward to your reply and once again I really appreciated your help.
Jamie Zoch
Clara,
In theory, yes that would be the case. You place a bid, nobody else bids and the order date comes with no other bidders and you win on your $69 bid. Tip~ Placing your bid a fair amount of time before the required “order by date” can make the specific domain name really stand out for other bidders to see, so it is always best to place your order as late as you can (near the order by date). This way it can stay “lost in the crowd” of the domain names listed on the site without any bids. Many bidders search by the amount of bids placed on domains, so again.. if there are no bids currently, it is best to wait until as late as you can to place your order.

If the domain name is a Network Solutions domain name and is currently listed in the Pre-Release section at NameJet, there is no reason to place a backorder at SnapNames or Pool. The only order needed would be with NameJet.
Clara
Yes, thank you so much for the explanation. I’m brainstorming a name for some time and lots of good ones are taken up and in use, I don’t mind buying existing one if it is within budget.
Do you have any articles to show which registrars have exclusive with a particular aftermarket domain names websites an which registrars do not?
Thanks again.
