KFC® launched a massive marketing campaign with the launch of its grilled chicken using a marketing message to "Unthink" the way KFC was in the past with only fried chicken as they now offer grilled and fried chicken. With the launch of the marketing campaign came two matching domain names to the message they were bringing across.
IMO, the main domain name used was pointing out something the company clearly missed.
UnthinkFC.com was the "main" domain name used for the site. Some may say the domain name is broken down as Unthink FC.. as in Unthink Fried Chicken. Some may look at the domain name and make the companies acronym pop-out at the end… in doing this, it creates a really bad message for the company. Unthin KFC.
Unthin (fat) is not a message a fast food style company wants!
Still to this day KFC is marketing with the Unthink message but has completely dropped the domain names UnthinKFC.com and UnthinkKFC.com from TV ads and likely print. Not only did they stop using the domain names in the ads, they simply took the web sites down and they do not resolve. If one were to visit UnthinKFC.com or UnthinkKFC.com, you will get a Page Load Error. Is this a big deal?
A lot of money was spent in the ad campaign getting people to see and remember the site (domain name). A special site was built and a lot of search engine rankings were in place and a lot of inbound links from doing this. Not only then but still now! In fact, Google still suggest that if you were to start typing the word unthink… it displays the UnthinKFC.com site for users to easily click! Since the marketing message "Unthink" is still being used, this is sending A LOT of traffic to the displayed domain name by Google, which simply doesn’t resolve and is a dead page.

KFC may have "tried" changing things up with the title but if somebody (and many do) simply click, those people are sent to UnthinKFC.com, which is a dead site. What KFC needs to do, is a 301 redirect of UnthinKFC.com and UnthinkKFC.com to KFC.com if they wish not to use the past sites and domain name(s)! The traffic currently going to the "dead" site is doing them no good. Has this been happening for a couple weeks now, a couple days? No, Months and Months!
In fact, people are so lost because of the "dead page" that UnthinKFC.com is the 18th most searched domain whois at Network Solutions.
I think it is OK to notice a mix up and how the domain name used can come across. These things are missed from time to time and corrections are needed but to not send the traffic to another site owned by KFC is another huge mistake. It is like having an OPEN sign on but keep the doors locked! It is like having a Drive-Thru with no window! It is like giving directions that go in a circle and leave you lost.

KentuckyGrilledChicken.COM Goes to a parked page.
Might be a case of foul(fowl)play!!!
Anyway, we will leave that one for the chicks to figure out.
Anyone for a hot bird than look no futher than KFC (Kinky Female Chicks), cause they’ve got hot legs, tasty thighs and scrumptious breasts. And the best thing about these chicks is you do all the stuffing yourself. KFC, get in and get em before they fly out the door. Going cheap cheap cheap cheap.
