Call-To-Action domain names are mainly used by advertising companies in Radio, TV and Print. They are catchy, easy to remember and most likely a term the mass has heard before. Think of how often a new product or service is launched by a company. Now with this new product or service it will get a "name" but with anything new, people have a hard time remembering what that name is…

I saw TV ads run for PickensPlan.com . I must of seen that TV ad 10 times or more before I could remember the darn guys name! I remembered Plan, but that was it.

Now what if Mr Pickens picked a Call-To-Action domain that we all hear of often or heard of before? The fact is, more people would Remember it after hearing it ONE TIME other then TEN TIMES.

Now if Mr Pickens would of used a domain name like EnergyDependent.com (that’s what we are) I think more people would of remember it. Why? How many time have you heard the term Energy Dependent? A lot more then Pickens Plan. Time is MONEY and having to run 10 ads that I saw for me to remember the domain is not good.

Call-To-Action domains can get the crowd in Easy and once they are around, they can get familar with the "new name" of the product or service.

Amp (ampenergy.com), Monster (monsterenergy.com) and Rockstar (rockstar69.com) did not become Energy Drink known until after spending some big bucks! A Product Name GRABS the customer but most companies are missing the ball to Bring In the customer as well. I had to Google all 3 of the above to find what their web address was…. Catchy call to auction domain names like RefuelMe.com can be used, so when a customer is looking to get some fuel and reorder, they know where to go! Now that is some Energy!

I also not only believe in the potential of call to action domains – I have invested in them!
    CallToActionDomain.com
    CallToActionDomains.com
    CallToActionAd.com
    CallToActionAdvertising.com

Besides owning the category defining domains, I own a lot of really catch ones too.
I think Owen Frager’s http://www.GrandNames.com site is a great place to market these types of domains. He has a lot of great contacts with the end users who might be interested in them and he has no problem getting the word out!

    Absolutely Jamie!

    have you seen ThisIsTheIndexPage.com ?
Converse (Nike) Ad centered on domains?
    http://belshass.wordpress.com/2008/07/31/converse/

Here in the UK I see that very often on TV ads.

    Save Today Save Tomorrow.com
a little bit of what you fancy.com
    difficult is worth doing.com

Sarah Jessica Parker Looks Like a Horse.com
even ranked 7 on Alexa at some point

does length of a domain matters anymore?

Maybe too many of us have spent too long hunting shortest names, when other avenues/opportunities exist in this domain game.
