THQ, Inc has launched a new Game Tablet for the Wii® and has named it uDraw™. The uDraw looks pretty neat as it allows you to draw on a tablet and assist in games like Pictionary® as the images are displayed on your TV while using the Wii game console.

In the uDraw commercial, THQ is using the domain name WorldOfUDraw.com to continue its message online. The site is a stand a lone website and is hosted on a dedicated server.

World Of uDraw Game Tablet For Wii

WorldOfUDraw.com was hand registered on July 30, 2010 at GoDaddy.com with privacy protection.

Interestingly enough, the matching domain name uDraw.com which was first registered in 1999, has been parked with Afternic.com all of 2010. The domain doesn’t resolve at time of posting (403 error), but I’m sure this is happening on purpose so no "Wii" or uDraw Game Tablet" ads are displayed on the domain name.

Seeing the domain is using Afternic DNS, tells me the domain name is very likely for sale, although it is not listed for sale on Afternic.

The alternative spelling, YouDraw.com was also registered in 1999 and is owned by Humanity at Human Productions and is a full website.

I think uDraw is a good name for the product but owning the exact match domain name to the product likely could have been reached before launching the product for a reasonable sum. Using a longer domain name on a brand name that could be taken as You Draw or uDraw I think was a mistake. Not only the extra effort needed to brand the spelling uDraw, but then to add in extra terms other than uDraw.com itself, can easily confuse customers that would like more information by visiting the products website.
